What is the Clean Heat Grant?

The Clean Heat Grant (CHG) has been proposed by the UK Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) as a scheme to offer grants towards the cost of installing an air or ground/water source heat pump and biomass in certain circumstances for installations up to 45kW. The CHG is proposed to replace the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for these technologies which ends on the 31st March 2022

The scheme has been built upon the Clean Growth Strategy and aims to help support the phase-out of high-carbon fossil fuel heating.  The scheme was consulted on by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) last year (Future Support for Low Carbon Heat). BEIS have named Ofgem as the intended administrator.
