MCS and SEUK announce new affiliate membership

MCS is pleased to announce a new affiliate membership in partnership with Solar Energy UK.

The new membership, open to all solar MCS installers, will allow them to join an affiliate membership package and become a valued member of the UK’s trade association for solar and storage. As affiliate members, installers will have access to SEUK’s regular newsletters, monthly webinars, and policy briefings.

With a growing membership of over 240 leading businesses, Solar Energy UK has had a remarkably successful year, with residential solar deployment already higher than the whole of 2020 and our Lighting the Way report setting out a roadmap for tripling solar capacity in the UK by 2030.

As a force for change in our industry, expanding our offer contributes to helping the next phase of our journey to build a clean energy system for everyone’s benefit.

Chris Hewett, Solar Energy UK’s Chief Executive said: “Solar Energy UK is delighted to enter into a long-term partnership with MCS and offer all MCS certified solar installers a free Affiliate Membership. As solar is the technology at the heart of the green homes revolution, this partnership will help installers stay up to speed with the latest industry developments. It will also help us increase our internal capacity to deliver our target of a tripling of residential solar by 2030 by influencing policymakers, as well as the construction and finance sectors.”

Ian Rippin, CEO of MCS said: “We see real value in the work undertaken by trade associations across our industry and so I’m delighted we can extend this membership offer to our installers at no extra cost to them.

The latest research undertaken by Solar Energy UK ‘The Value of Solar Property’ highlighted that a Solar PV installation can add almost £2,000 to the value of a property.”
