This is an exciting time to join MCS: in 2022, we reported exceptional growth and we now must continue to ensure we are at the heart of the UK’s drive to meet net-zero carbon by 2050.

Domestic energy is playing a huge part in achieving this target. However, deciding to invest in renewable energy remains a big step for many people; made more confusing by jargon and complicated financial models. MCS aims to cut through difficult language and complex processes as a way of ‘Giving people confidence in home-grown energy.’

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Compliance team for a Compliance Scheduler.

Main role and responsibilities

  • Downloading relevant data from the MCS Installations Database and Huddle.
  • Using Microsoft Excel to locate geographically appropriate installation assessment sites based on assessors’ locations.
  • Coordinating compliance assessment bookings with assessors’ availability.
  • Contacting consumers and contractors to successfully book in compliance assessments. This may be via email and/or telephone.
  • Providing first class customer service, ensuring that communications are on message, adopting the right tone for audiences.
  • Supporting the Compliance Analysts with additional tasks when required.

About MCS

MCS certifies contractors, low-carbon products, and installations used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources, including solar panels and heat pumps.

Small-scale renewable energy – what MCS calls ‘home-grown energy’ – is increasingly affordable and gives people the opportunity to heat or power their home themselves, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

Something that’s ‘home-grown’ is also something you can take pride in. By encouraging people to invest in renewable energy technology, we aim to make a real contribution to the global fight against climate change and help the UK meet its recent commitment to achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050 – while creating new green jobs in the process.

As an MCS employee, you will have the ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our company values. These are embedded in all roles across the business, and you should evidence these values as part of the application process:

  • Expert
  • Inspiring
  • Collaborative
  • Principled
  • Determined

Our compliance team

The MCS Compliance team provides a vital role in ensuring contractors are compliant with the MCS Scheme requirements, ensuring high quality installations. Our core team functions include complaint investigations and routine compliance assessments. As a Compliance Scheduler you will be using data from our MCS Installations Database to book in compliance assessments based on the location of our assessors. These will be booked in using both telephone and emails. At all times you will be providing first class customer service.

The Compliance Team is a small, friendly and busy team in which everyone supports each other and works closely together. The Compliance Team is comprised of a Compliance & Enforcement Manager, two Compliance Analysts and five Compliance Assessors, with different members of the team being either office or field based.

At MCS we care about our employees, as reflected by our attractive set of employee policies which includes enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption policies, enhanced sick leave and flexible working to name a few. We will always support our team members with their personal growth, whether this be through personal mentoring, training, qualifications, weekly meetings, Lunch & Learn sessions etc.
