Household in Fuel Poverty | In England, a household is in fuel poverty if it has a fuel poverty energy efficiency rating of band D or below in a home that cannot be kept warm at reasonable cost without bringing their residual income below the poverty threshold2. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, a household is in fuel poverty if it spends more than 10% of it’s income on fuel costs.3 4 |
Rural Household | A household located in an area designated as rural, as defined by the population Census. |
Off Gas Grid Household | A household that is not connected to the gas network. |
Owner Occupier | Households where the occupant owns the property outright, or is buying the property with a mortgage/part of a shared ownership scheme5 |
Private Rented | Households where the occupant is renting from a landlord, who is not a local authority or any registered provider of social housing5 |
Living Rent Free | Households where the occupant is not paying rent e.g., people living in a flat belonging to a relative5 |
Social Rented | Households where the occupant is renting from a local authority or any other registered provider of social housing5 |
Domestic | An installation that has been installed under a domestic contract (B2C)/in a domestic premises |
Non-Domestic | An installation that has been installed in a non-domestic premises (any property that is not used for living accommodation) |
Commercial | An installation that has been installed under a commercial contract (e.g. B2B) |
Unspecified | An installation that does not have an installation type specified |
