MCS will be joining the IAA for their third annual conference

On Thursday 12 October, MCS will be joining the Installation Assurance Authority (IAA) for their third annual conference, at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds.

The conference sessions will be focused on how, as an industry, we can come together to achieve the UK’s target of net zero by 2050. The sessions will consist of a line-up of expert speakers from across the sector, who will be discussing industry developments and challenges, Government policy and progress, and how we can deliver the funding and skills that will be needed in order to achieve mass retrofit at a national scale.

The IAA have arranged consumer focussed panels and workshops to support the growth and development of the green-sector, along with hosting experts that will be delivering their latest research and knowledge.

Our CEO, Ian Rippin, will be speaking 12.05pm-12.25pm, to give you an update on the recent MCS scheme consultation, that closed 17 July 2023.

MCS received hundreds of responses to the consultation, over 50% of which were from installers. Join Ian as he shares some of the feedback, explains the next steps and timescales for the scheme redevelopment, and answers your questions about what the changes to MCS will mean for you.

Before lunch, our CEO, Ian Rippin, will be joining a panel to answer your questions about the importance of certification for energy and heat installations.

This panel will run from 12.45pm-1.00pm, joining him on this panel will be:

Later that day, our Operations & Communications Director, Lisa Cooke, will be on the ‘Meeting the Challenges of Net Zero- Consumer Policy and Customer Service’ panel.

This panel will run from 2.35pm-3.00pm, Lisa will be joining:

Euan Graham-Senior Policy Researcher at Citizens Advice

Simona Marcucci-Head of Customer Operations at Installation Assurance Authority
