Consultation: MCS 034 Biomass Pre-sale information and System Performance Estimate

MCS has today published a four-week consultation on the introduction and development of MCS 034: Biomass Pre-sale information and System Performance Estimate.
As part of the ongoing redevelopment of the MCS contractor scheme, MCS installation standards are being simplified and a supporting System Performance Estimate will be provided for each technology type.
MCS 034 details a methodology to enable MCS certified contractors to produce an estimate of the annual energy performance of a Biomass system which can be provided either before or after a full heat loss survey is completed.
This aligns System Performance requirements across all MCS technologies to standardise processes for all stakeholders whilst also enabling consumers to make a more informed choice.
Following this development work, MCS would now like to invite comments from stakeholders. The deadline for submitting comments for this consultation is Monday 8 January 2024.
