Product Removal Alert

Certified Installers should note that MCS has taken the decision to remove several Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) products from the Scheme and the MCS Product Directory.
This follows an investigation by the MCS Compliance Team who followed up on reports from a consumer that wanted to claim RHI but couldn’t track down their MCS certificate number following the installation of a Hero branded GSHP.
The investigation concluded that the products affected were ‘re-branded’ before the supplier certification process was completed. They were registered on the MID against the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) certification.
These products were never listed on the Ofgem Product Eligibility List (PEL), so are not eligible for the RHI. MCS alongside the Certification Body, BSI took the decision to remove the products.
The following products are affected by this and are NOT MCS certified:
- HERO CLASSIC H 3-15
- HERO CLASSIC H 5-25
- HERO CLASSIC HC 3-15
- HERO CLASSIC HC 5-25
- HERO ELITE H 3-15
- HERO ELITE H 5-25
- HERO ELITE HC 3-15
- HERO ELITE HC 5-25
MCS allows previously certified products to be installed up to 6 months after their withdrawal from the scheme. However these products will not be eligible for RHI payments.
