Register for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme now

Installers can register for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) from midday, 11 April 2022.

The BUS aims to incentivise and increase the deployment of low-carbon heating. Upfront capital grants will be provided to support the installation of heat pumps and, in limited circumstances, biomass boilers in domestic and non-domestic buildings.

Grants will be offered at a flat rate and will not vary by capacity of the installation, which must not exceed 45 kWth.

The scheme opened for account creation on 11 April 2022 and will open for applications on 23 May 2022.

How to register for a BUS installer account

If you wish to submit applications for grants under the scheme, you must create a BUS installer account with the scheme administrator, Ofgem.

You must submit a registration form directly to Ofgem in order to create your account. You can download the form via the Ofgem website here.

Ofgem has also published detailed guidance to help you through the process – here. This guidance is for MCS certified installers who wish to set up their account ahead of making applications for BUS vouchers and grants once the scheme opens on 23 May 2022.

Head to our detailed BUS page for more information on the scheme.
